In Kentucky, the Alternative Financing Program (AFP) program is operated through the Kentucky Assistive Technology Loan Corporation (KATLC). KATLC has partnered with the Appalachian Assistive Technology Loan Fund (AATLF) to provide no-interest, no-fee loans ranging from $100-7,000 to qualified applicants with disabilities for the purchase of assistive technology. Assistive technology can include many things such as hearing aids, adapted computers, mobility devices, ramps, communication devices as well as other equipment that will improve the quality of life or increase the independence of Kentuckians with disabilities.
